Crafting a resume and cover letter is like online dating — you want to impress without oversharing, stand out without being desperate, and definitely avoid sending someone into a nap. Here’s your cheat sheet:

Do’s ✅

✔ Tailor it: Customize your resume and cover letter for each job. One size fits none.
✔ Highlight impact: Numbers speak louder than adjectives. “Managed three projects, delivered on time, saved $10K” > “Responsible for projects.”
✔ Keep it clean: White space is your friend. Easy-to-read formatting wins.
✔ Show personality (in moderation): A clever line or small joke can make you memorable — but keep it professional.
✔ Proofread thoroughly: Typos = career kryptonite. (Psst.... Polished Proof & Pen can help!)

Don’ts ❌

✖ Use generic phrases: “Hardworking” and “team player” alone won’t wow anyone.
✖ Overstuff your resume: Keep it concise. Two pages max (one if possible).
✖ Lie or exaggerate: Inflated claims will come back to haunt you. Honesty = respect.
✖ Forget your cover letter: Some hiring managers still check them. Make it count.
✖ Get cute with design: Neon backgrounds or Comic Sans might get noticed… but not for the right reasons.

Think of your resume and cover letter as your personal brand: polished, precise, and just interesting enough to make someone want to meet you.
